The Cutest Darn Stinkbug...EVER!

Next week, Alex will be performing in his first school play! He has the coveted roll of the "Stinkbug!" He has to be very enthusiastic and animated...NOT a problem for our little guy!

"Bugs" is a kindergarten play my school has been doing for many years. It is truly adorable and always becomes SUCH a memory for all! Each year, when I take my 4th graders to see it, I think about how much fun it will be when Alex is in it!

THIS is finally the year!!!

He is the cutest darn stinkbug I have ever seen!!! LOVE the Converse!

Amy made this cute costume! Great job, Sis!

Easter 2009

We had another WONDERFUL Easter at my parent's house. The kids, as always, had fun hunting for eggs and we had fun hiding them! My mom made a super brunch...still full from it right now! Another highlight of my day is that I successfully avoided getting in any pictures!!!! Yippee!

Thanks, Mom and Dad, for another great day!

Here is a picture of my parent's house! We moved into this house in 1985 or 86, I believe. It is still so pretty to me!

LOVE the saguaro in the front yard!

Can you find the hidden egg?

More of the front yard!

Alex had fun making funny faces for his Auntie!

Joe helped Sarah count her eggs!
And she's off...

Grampy leant a helping hand...

Hunting...

So pretty...

Alex told me he was a mosquito!

Surveying the yield...

Sis's cute family!

Mom, Dad, and the kids...

Spinning...

Her tennis ball went in the pool....

Playing soccer with Grampy...

Retrieving the ball with Grampy!

Happy Easter!

Quick Post...I have been seriously slacking on the blogging thing. I am going to try and be better!

I wish everyone reading this (if there is anyone anymore) a WONDERFUL Easter!

A less than excited bunny.....but cute nonetheless!

My pretty spring flower...

Had to throw in the gnome! I generally don't like gnomes. But this guy caught my eye, was only 2 inches tall, and could be placed without being too obvious in the yard! Oh, and what's a gnome without a comparably big mushroom!?
I hope to post pics of our Easter with the family later today!

Spring Break Craftiness!

It has been a while since I have blogged. I have been working more on my classroom blog, which I have been asked to share with the other teachers @ our in-service on Monday. Much like Back to School Night each year, I will probably display how LOUSY I am at speaking to adults. Give me a class of 4th graders anytime...and I am a pro. Peers and other adults...not a pro. I don't think I will ever master this! :o( I have been worrying about it for about a week now. Oh well. Maybe I'll surprise myself. :o)

I had grand plans for this Spring Break...maybe a trip somewhere in AZ, doing a complete spring cleaning, working out every day, getting some sun on my extra pale skin, lesson planning/curriculum mapping for the rest of the year...Uh, yea...I instead decided to take on some crafting projects. I believe I am a creative person, just not so much a "crafty" person.

It all started when I found myself needing some retail therapy. I don't shop for clothes anymore like I did in my twenties...I have moved on to house decor. To say I'm obsessed with decorating and working on my house is an understatement. If I decided to no longer teach as a profession (which I will probably NEVER do), I would go into decorating. I LOVE it.

I decided to get a new bedspread for my 3rd bedroom (guest room). I was hoping this would spur on my hubby to finally paint that room the green color (Behr Promenade) we have been planning on since 2003(the paint sample has been taped to the wall for 5 years). Well, in changing the bedspread and sheets, it changed the whole color scheme of the room. I needed to get coordinating things on the walls etc., right?! OF COURSE! This is where I decided to try some "homemade" creations!

I began with making some wall quote "art". I bought a poster frame, painted the particle board 'Promenade' green and applied some vinyl lettering! VoilĂ ! Ann's kind of decor creation--fast and COMPLETELY EASY! I didn't want to put it directly on the wall in case I wanted to change things in the room at a later date...so the frame was perfect! :o)

I LIKED IT SO MUCH...I made one for MY bedroom!

I then thought of other decorations...I had some little metal signs that worked with the theme, but had too many reds and "brushed/antique" gold accents. I painted many items brown and framed some Hawaii pictures for the green and blue accents I was pulling from the bathroom (it has a beach theme). Now I have started to decoupage some things and create another wall piece using scrapbook paper, Styrofoam, jute, and sticks...We'll see how that turns out (see pics below)! I am liking it so far...
The sticks...

Decoupage heart...

If that wasn't enough, I wanted to make something "Spring/Easter" for the house! So, I bought a bunch of ribbon and created a ribbon wreath for my house and (by request) one for my mom!

I think I have had my fill of being "crafty" for a while...That is until Summer Break maybe...

Take Me Back Tuesday! BIG hair...Probably about 1988

This was one of those school "extra" pictures towards the end of the school year...I think it was my sophomore year. I think the people in the picture were Ruth, Bob, and Kaitlyn. No clue where they are now...sadly don't even know their last names. Loving my puka (sp) necklace, cinch belt, and LARGE hair!
